SightMD Welcomes Cynthia Zara, OD to its expert team

March 2024 – HAUPPAUGE, N.Y.— SightMD, a leading multi-specialty ophthalmology platform in New York, welcomes Cynthia Zara, OD to its expert team.

Cynthia Zara, OD is a board-certified optometrist providing dilation exams, contact lenses and eyeglasses, dry eye treatments, and more. She graduated from Southern College of Optometry, and completed a postdoctoral residency at the State University of New York College of Optometry. In addition to providing emergency care for infections, foreign body removal, chalazion, flashes and floaters, Dr. Zara also provides routine care for macular degeneration, diabetes, glaucoma and corneal dystrophies. Dr. Zara focuses on providing outstanding care for her patients and a core component is patient education. She believes that when her patients understand their conditions and risk factors for eye diseases, it helps them to be proactive in their prevention, treatment and long-term management. As a parent, she tries to use her own children’s visual development challenges as examples for her patients and volunteers in their schools whenever possible. In her spare time Dr. Zara loves to watch the Food Network and gain inspiration and techniques for her own baking.

When asked what she is looking forward to most about joining the SightMD Team, Dr Zara said “I am excited to be joining SightMD in Hamptons Bays and Southampton. I have lived on the South Shore of Long Island for more than 10 years and am looking forward to working within my community alongside such a highly respected team.”

Dr Zara will be seeing patients at our Eastern Long Island locations in Hampton Bays (223 W Montauk Hwy Ste 101, Hampton Bays, NY 11946) and Southampton (186 Old Town Rd, Southampton, NY 11968).
